The Author

The author has been worked nearly 30 years with Aurubis AG (formerly Norddeutsche Affinerie see Aurubis ) - one of the biggest Copper Producers in the World. Aurubis has been since more than 150 years not only a Copper Producer, but was and is a Multi-Metal Company producing also Gold, Silver, Lead, Nickel and Antimony Compounds, Selenium and other Metals.

In different stages of his Career, he was active in Smelting and Refining, Recycling and Metal Products - the last years of his career as a Member of the Executive Board of Aurubis AG. He was also a Board Member of the "European Copper Institute" and the German "Deutsche Kupferinstitut". After his Retirement he was Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the "European Metallurgical Congresses (EMC)" from 2013 to 2017 (organized by GdMB, see GdMB )

After bis PhD in Chemical Engineering, he has made his "Habilitation" at the University of of Essen, giving Lectures and learning to explain difficult Issues in an understandable Way.

After the big success of his book “Understanding Copper - Technologies, Markets, Business” (see Understanding Copper ), he was encouraged to wrote a Book about all Non-Ferrous Metals from Actinium to Zirconium and their Roles for a Sustainable Future .
